Dear Cheyenne,
Review of your academic record indicates that you have failed to meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and are no longer eligible to receive federal financial aid. SAP regulations take into account semester hours attempted, rate of completion, and UAB grade point average. You must complete 67% of course work in order to graduate within 180 attempted credit hours. You must also maintain a 2.0 UAB grade point average. You may review your current GPA and completion rate by visiting "My Financial Aid" from your student profile in BlazerNET.
You may regain good standing and eligibility for financial aid by attending classes at UAB at your own expense. When you are in compliance with the requirements, your application for aid will be reconsidered. You may appeal this SAP decision if there are extenuating circumstances. If your appeal is approved, you will be granted probation with financial aid reinstated. You may link to the SAP Appeal Form by visiting "My Financial Aid" from your student profile in BlazerNET.
Because your success is extremely important to us, you are required to visit or contact the University Academic Success Center to learn about ways that we may support your academic success.
If you have not applied for federal aid, please know that your SAP status will impact eligibility for financial aid in the future.
